I was SO grateful to those women for being with the kids that long. I kept telling them thank you. Workers like that are priceless. I love it when people truly have a servant's heart and are willing to do those "less glamorous" jobs. I believe they come with the highest reward. I can't tell you how grateful I am for Kids Rock. Maybe it's because my kids benefit from it and they truly LOVE going to their class. Or maybe it's because I know what it's like to take over the kids program after leading worship AND helping my husband lead the youth group in a church that was previously content to just push the kids to the back and expect them sit quietly in church with the adults, bored to death. it's probably a mixture of both.

Thank you and all the Kids Rock volunteers for all you do Helen. Your work is HUGE. You are planting eternal seeds in fertile soil of my children's hearts they they will never lose. I couldn't repay that.

I have received many emails from volunteers about what a great job you have done. You are definitely the woman for the job. God has given you everything you need.

What an exciting change for you!! Forgive me for lurking on your blog. I follow Jen McGee's blog about Kid's Rock. I have talked to her on the phone a few times, and our churches seem very similar. She has been kind enough to pray for me and my church and share some ideas with us.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that if you need anything, feel free to contact me. I was recently in the same position as you (less than 1 year ago), I joined the staff here and took over Children's Ministry duties from our pastor's wife. While it isn't perfect and doesn't always run as smoothly as I would like; it is an honor to serve the Lord in this capacity.

If you have been called, the Lord will equip you to succeed. Serve Him with you whole heart and he will bless you in your role.

Again, if you need someone to talk to about Children's Ministry, I would be more than willing to help.

Sincerely,
Teri Bennett
Director of Children's Ministry
The Church Next Door, Columbus, Ohio

Helen,

I'm excited that you're coming on board with this great ministry team to lead our Children's Ministry to another level. You will do great because of your rich heritage in the Lord given to you by godly parents, because you have a heart after God, because you've remained steadfast in your commitment to the great vision of this ministry, and because God has been preparing you for this. You will have many cheerleaders (I'll be one of them) and Jennifer really will be the captain of the cheerleader squad.

Pastor Norma and I are proud of you and believe in you.
